Weaning Workshops


The thought of giving your baby food when your baby has only had milk, whether it’s formula or breast is daunting. Especially with the varied and contradictory information available and thrust onto new or inexperienced parents.

Our Weaning Course are designed to give you all the information needed to feel ready for this exciting milestone. Our courses are available either on a personal or group basis. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and most of all to ensure you will enjoy this special time as a family.

At the age of 4 – 6 months old your baby will be ready for solid food. Remember you can prepare for this ahead of time with us following the latest evidence based research recommendations. Tiny Strides advise you step-by-step on how and when to introduce different foods to your baby. We deliver practical tips about teething and dental care, we discuss different options for weaning including 'traditional' and ‘baby led weaning’, food preparation and food hygiene. Baby cups and dummies are discussed to ensure you feel confident about the many questions that arise during this stage of development.

This invaluable two hour workshop is designed so you will enjoy this exciting stage and make meal times fun. As always our aim at Tiny Strides is not to tell you what to do or what is best. We will arm you with the best available information and current techniques, knowing that you will make the best decision for you and your baby.

We talk jars, packets, purees and baby-led weaning! All from a practical non-judgemental, mum centred ex Health Visitor. The workshop fee includes recipes from first foods upto age 1, life-long forum support, 4 weeks email/phone back-up support from me to support you through the process and a goody bag!
